Your Journey Starts Here

#1 Your First Appointment

To get started we kindly ask you to complete our quick registration form (takes 1 minute). Once completed you'll be able to book an appointment with one of our counsellors. 

#2 Understanding & Options

During your first session, we'll take your through how therapy works and identify how best we might help you overcome your challenges. We'll also present a few options for you to consider in regard to ongoing support.

#3 Starting Your Journey

Once you've completed your first session, your counsellor may suggest a frequency or intervals between your next appointment. Using our booking system, you can either book this yourself or ask your counsellor to book your next session for you. 

Frequently Asked Questions About Counselling 

Starting counselling for the first time can be scary. You might be asking yourself things like: 
  • Why do I need this? It's a waste of time. 
  • There's nothing wrong with me mentally
  • I don't have a real mental health problem
  • I just need to toughen up
Whilst all of these thoughts are perfectly normal Counselling is just a short-term temporary tool that you can use to find clarity. 

What's the difference between Counselling & Psychology?

Counsellors and Psychologist often work hand in hand. Whilst both can deliver therapy, psychologist will often assist you in diagnosing mental illness

So which is better a Counsellor or Psychologist? 

At the end of the day, it depends on what you need as a person. If your looking at trying to resolve short term challenges in life, Counselling can be an affordable and suitable choice for you. 

How do you deliver counselling? 

Counselling sessions can be conducted either online (Zoom) or via face to face (at our Facility in Berwick, Victoria). For specific clients we also do home visits but separate charges may apply.

Can I send my client to Counselling? 

Whilst at ATEC we prefer to work with clients above the age of 18. We can with guardian approval work with younger clients. For more information please reach out to us on enquiries@atec.vic.edu.au. 

What areas do you service?

Whilst our online counselling is Australia wide, we specialise in the suburbs of - Berwick, Beaconsfield, Cranbourne, Dandenong, Hallam, Officer and Pakenham. However with suitable arrangements our Counsellors can travel anywhere within 1 hour of Melbourne CBD.
